2012 The Mega Year

Beyond all expectations, preplanned itineraries and just plain luck, 2012 is turning out to be a Mega Year for the String Surfer and his Gang of Musical ruffians on both continents...the German Country Prize for Song of the Year in February with the help of Jolina Carl and Iris Paesch, Duet Partner and Songwriter respectively. Given out by the Country Music Association of Germany and Western Mail Magazine the song "I Hope You Stay" scooped the awards with this great honor as well as landing @ Number One 4 Months straight on the German Country Airplay Charts where it is still hovering in the Top 80...what a bullet and I must add a beautiful vocal on a Great Song. NAMM in LA and the International Musik Messe in Frankfurt turned out to be the great showcase it promised to be with a featured concert for Hofner guitars 125th Anniversary Celebration including a place in the new 300 page Hofner book.

By far the greatest musical achievement this year is the Concert @ the rec room on Hewitt Ave in Everett Washington filmed and recorded with Dave Lee's new Musical Ensemble "The Fabulous Volcanos", an Avant-guard-retro endeavor featuring Dave Townsend on Keys, Larry Greenleaf @ the Bass and Ron Rudge handling the new Roland Percussion Kit.

The new CD from these sessions produced by long time Amigo Dave T is called "Charlatan", contains all new Dave Lee Compositions and will be released in time for the Summer European Tour June 5. Video from the concert is on YouTube now!

And that brings us to the incredible Tour Agenda….how about 40 Gigs and Festivals and 10 Private Concerts (Yes many Music lovers book Dave Lee for small venue performances as well as Home parties) throughout Germany, France, Holland and Denmark all in 80 daze.
